The Red Devil football team prevailed over the Parowan Rams on Friday, Aug. 16, giving coach Dennis Wells his 100th victory.
The team, bent on redeeming themselves after losing to a tough Parowan team in 2021, showed perseverance, communicated well and played tough. Emotions ran high and then low as Parowan immediately matched a few touchdowns. In the end, the Rams weren’t able to deliver when needed as the Red Devil line shut them down.
Sophomore quarterback Tatym Bisco passed for 80 yards and a touchdown, ran for 171 more, including a rushing TD. Senior Draven Shaw rushed for 109 yards and had 20 yards receiving. Senior Rayce Walling rushed for 104 yards, 8 receiving yards, one touchdown and he kicked the point after following three touchdowns. Junior Lane Berry and Sophomore Trace York all contributed to the score with touchdowns and York with an interception.
The Red Devils want to send a shout-out to the band, cheerleaders, drill team and the Spoke on Center for supporting the team and everyone that came out to cheer.
Next up for the Red Devils is Judge Memorial, a home game for Grand County with a 7 p.m. start time on Friday, Sept. 2.
