More Dances of Universal Peace in Moab April 29

The Dances of Universal Peace are coming to Moab

again, with Durango area dance leaders returning to lead in traditional

sacred dances for peace, healing and unity. No musical or dance

experience is required and no partner is necessary.

This event will be held in the dance room at the

Moab Arts and Recreation Center (MARC) on Saturday, April 29. The dance

runs from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Cost is $6 per person.

In addition to this public dance, there will be a

weekend workshop entitled “Leading from Presence, Dancing from

Presence.” It is designed not only for skilled dance leaders, but for

those wanting to learn to lead dances, as well as for musicians and

dancers of all levels. Centering exercises, teaching of various dances

and speaking circles will all be presented in order to deepen the

experience of the Dances of Peace for participants.

These are two separate events and people are welcome

to come to one or both. To register for the workshop, call 259-4663.

For more information about the public dance, call 259-1540.
