Keith Miller, 1942-2022

Keith Miller on July 25, 2022 was called to play golf in the Heavens Golf Tournament with his dream foursome: Roger, Sonny and Mac.

Thunder will be the echo of their laughter as they come down the ninth fairway!

Keith had a lot of fun and unusual challenges during his life.

Born in Hanover Illinois on April 1, 1942, his younger years in West Unity, Ohio and teen years in Litchfield, Minnesota.

He met his future wife, Nan Lovett, in the same grade in high school. They had 5 children, Desirea (deceased), Marylin Miller Broad, Elizabeth Miller Young, Katherine Miller Rowe and Brian Miller.

He worked 12 years as a walking mailman in cold Minnesota, which earned him a medical retirement. Also, during this time, he and some friends started a country-western band called the Country Ramblers. They played music throughout southern Minnesota in dance halls and country clubs and enjoyed playing with a lot of the country music stars.

When he disbanded the band in the early 1970s, he decided to move his family out of the cold country and into warm Utah. During this time his new passion was golf and Moab fit the requirement perfectly and even had a bowling alley!

He loved the history of Moab and spent many hours in the Grand County Public Library reading about the early pioneers and about their families in the local newspaper archives. He also loved the desert and learned geology from Mayor McDougald.

He then became a rockhound and taught himself lapidary and silversmithing to sell jewelry and cut rocks on his website. He also spent a year as a goldminer. Through all of these adventures he met a lot of wonderful friends.

At Keith’s request cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Condolences may be sent to the family at or www.SVMC.US
