During their 2021 session, the Utah legislature instructed the Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands to use portions of State Sovereign Land in the vicinity of Dalton Wells Road in the creation of Utahraptor State Park.

FFSL intends to issue the Utah Division of State Parks a Sovereign Lands General Permit to operate the new State Park in that area. FFSL is preparing a Site-Specific Plan for this intended use, consistent with Administrative Rule R652-90.

The public is invited to review and provide comments on the draft Site-Specific Plan; which evaluates the facts and present conditions of the subject parcels of Sovereign Land, but will not prescribe management objectives for the State Park itself.
