Please join with me to support the voted leeway election being held for the Grand County School District on June 26.

    Passage of this critical measure will help support additional staffing and programs at our schools at a time following years of cutbacks that have left the district unable to adequately fund important maintenance and operational needs.

    Many facets of this community have seen wonderful improvements over the past several years. The new Grand Center, the new library, new city offices and an upcoming recreation center all attest to this community's pride and positive outlook for the future. It's now time to put our votes behind an election that will help improve our schools.

    My children attended Grand County schools. I have grandchildren and great-grandchildren now attending Grand County schools. It is important to me that we show them the support they deserve, through helping to create a better school district.
