The evening will feature the lilting voice and spellbinding songs of Jean Rohe, whom The New York Times has called “a sure-footed young singer-songwriter.” Rohe has built a strong following with her one-of-a-kind narrative songs.
Rohe will be joined by Danny Noveck, Boston’s master Irish fiddler, and Moab’s own Chris Layer, playing flutes and bagpipies. A meet-and-greet reception with the artists will follow the concert.
“As longtime supporters of the Moab Music Festival, we’re excited to welcome Jean Rohe, along with Danny Noveck and Chris Layer,” said Aarchway Inn owner, Mike Bynum. “The Festival enhances the musical and mystical worlds of Moab like nothing else can!”
Although there is no admission fee for the concert, donations are encouraged, festival officials said in a news release.
The Moab Music Festival’s 2014 regular season opens Aug. 28 and runs through Sept. 8. More information about the free Aug. 9 concert and the festival’s full season is available online at: www.moabmusicfest.org or by calling 435-259-7003.
