Whipple, a senior, is the daughter of Doug and Kristie Whipple.
During her high school career, Whipple has participated in volleyball and track, lettering in both sports for three years. On the track team, she placed second in state in the long jump in 2013 and first in the region in 2014.
Outside of school, Whipple works as a hostess at Pasta Jay’s restaurant.
She has taken completed numerous college classes while in high school and will be attending Southern Utah University this fall with 21 credits already earned. After completing her undergraduate work at SUU, she hopes to attend a college of optometry and ultimately become an optometrist.
Marshall, a junior, is the son of John Marshall and Corry Cooper.
At school, Marshall is a member of the GCHS mountain biking team, and has had two fifth-place and one fourth-place finish. He also works as a technician for school events that are held in the auditorium.
Outside of school, Marshall works at both the Chile Pepper Bike Shop and at the Moab Adventure Park, where he assists clients in navigating the ropes courses. He also volunteers his time mentoring children who are new to climbing and rappeling. Marshall said he enjoys restoring and modifying old vehicles and is working on a 1931 Model A coupe.
Marshall has already taken three college classes while in high school. After finishing his associate’s degree at Utah State University, Marshall hopes to transfer to the Colorado School of Mines and earn a degree in either mechanical or electrical engineering.
