He was born Oct. 15, 1933, to Harva and Rebecca (Lewis) Marsing in Green River, Utah. Albert attended school in Green River, Utah, where he graduated valedictorian of his class in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea between 1955 and 1957.
Albert moved his family to Moab in 1958, where he was employed as a truck driver for Decker Trucking and MacFarland & Hollinger Trucking until he retired in 1999. He spent his retirement years in Moab enjoying the beautiful scenery. He enjoyed hunting with his family, riding ATVs, gardening, and going on cruises. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Amelia; his son, Larry (Lynnae) Marsing; his daughter, Janet (Mark) Benton; three sisters, Verdella Davis, Laura Faye Leach, and Donna Duncan; two brothers, Eddie Marsing and Chad Marsing; six grandchildren, Kari (Craig) Weston, Heather (Phil) Kinsey, Angela (Phil) Witt, Michelle (Kyle) Cozzens, Geoffrey (Emily) Benton, and Chad Benton; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Harvey, Carlos, Jay, Gene, Lewis Rex, and one sister, Barbara Hansen; his first wife, Connie (Cottrell) Marsing and his second wife, Louise (Sims) Marsing.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service to begin at noon, both to be held at the LDS Stake Center located at 701 Locust Lane, Moab, Utah. A graveside dedication will follow at Grand Valley Cemetery.
