Sheets said the Moab wrestlers individual results were as follows: Joe Sanders, in his first-ever wrestling experience, went 0-2, Caison Ault went 1-2, Carson Whitney went 0-2, Dylan Harrison went 1-1, Tigis Glencoe went 1-2, Carson Sheets went 2-0, Dane Glencoe went 0-2, Kayden Robertson went 4-0, Maison Moyle went 2-1, Taison Wilson, also in his first-ever wrestling experience, went 0-2, Greg Stubblefield went 4-0 and Trea Meyer went 2-1.
“For being a first-year start-up team, our boys did really well and represented their hometown well,” Sheets said.
Independent of the team, 12-year-old sixth-grader Carson Sheets of Moab traveled to compete in the Christy’s Clash in Syracuse, Utah, a tournament to raise money for breast cancer research. Sheets competed in two age and weight divisions at the event – sixth- and seventh-grade, wrestling at 79 to 86 pounds, and eighth- and ninth-grade, wrestling at 86 to 92 pounds. He finished second in both divisions, going 2-1 in the younger division and 3-1 in the older division.
Coming up for the Moab Junior Devils is a scheduled home dual meet against Monticello immediately following the Grand County High School meet against Dove Creek at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
