George had previously been a long-time resident of Moab, Utah, (1959-1962 and 1972-1992) and Scott City, Manning and Healy, Kan., (1962 – 1972).

George had been employed as a farmer, oil field worker, truck driver, grain elevator manager, meat cutter and grocery store manager in Kansas. While in Moab he was owner and operator, with his wife Vera, of Rim Rock Flowers and Gifts.

He enjoyed work, but also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid aviation enthusiast and for many years held a private pilot’s license. He also enjoyed sports and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
