She was a world traveler, a grand master bridge player, loved operas, planning cruises, and doing puzzles. Her favorite companions throughout her life were her dogs. She was residing in Brevard, N. C., at the time of her death on Nov. 15, 2013, at the age of 82. Prior to that she lived in Moab.
Beloved by all who knew her, she is survived by her son, Frank B. (Linda) Darcey of Moab; H. Denise Darcey of Brevard; Gail A. Darcey of Moab; and an older sister, Beverly Beal, of Sun City West, Ariz.
Fondly called “Gramma Honey,” she also leaves behind five grandchildren, Carrie (Greg) Darcey-Klepzig of Moab, Christina (Jamin) Brown of Castle Rock, Colo., Thomas (Sydney) Green of Littleton, Colo., Beth Emmerich of San Diego, Calif., and Catherine Darcey of Brevard, N.C. She had five great-grandchildren, who were the sparkle in her eyes.
Her generous spirit endeared her to everyone. Always the family’s social butterfly, she enjoyed being with family and friends. She will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her.
