James, a second-grader, is the son of Tiffany James.
“Gannon a very studious, diligent, hardworking student. He takes his education seriously and will do whatever it takes to make each assignment his very best,” said his teacher, Julie Durfee. “Gannon is developing discipline skills that carry over into all areas of his life, due to all of his responsibilities.
Durfee also described James as “a leader in his kindness, and empathy for others.”
“He is a role model as a hard worker and A[-plus] student,” Durfee said. “With all of the good habits Gannon is developing, I’m sure he will be able to do anything he desires in life, and that will undoubtedly be something very great!”
Mayor Dave Sakrison and the Moab City Council presented the citizenship award to James at the Oct. 22 city council meeting.
