Following high school and the end of World War II she rekindled an old friendship with a classmate named Rex Guymon. They married and this union was blessed with six children: David, Bruce, Richard, Max, Kathryn, and Eileen.
When her children were all in school, she decided to enroll in college and get a degree. She graduated from the College of Eastern Utah and later completed her Masters of Education from the University of Utah. She began teaching at Durrant Elementary and finished her 22 year career at Castle Height’s, teaching 6th grade. She also proudly served on the Carbon County Board of Education following her retirement from teaching.
She loved to rock hunt, camp in Huntington Canyon, watch a good baseball game or some bull riding, and was a wonderful cook. She also loved to travel, crochet, paint, plant flowers, and feed hummingbirds. Her retirement years were filled with family and friends in Spring Glen and later in Moab.
Her sons Max and Bruce, son-in-law Randy Rose and daughter-in-law Helen Guymon will meet her on the other side. She is survived by Rex, sons David (Marianne) Guymon, Richard (Jacque) Guymon, daughters Kathryn (Lynn) Jackson, Eileen Rose, and daughter-in-law Vickie Dean. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and her brother Bob Shiner. We will all mourn her passing but will rejoice in her long and happy life.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, October 19th at 11 am at the Price City Cemetery for a graveside service. A luncheon will follow at the Price 7th Ward.
