Entries may include personal essays, poetry, photographs, artwork, or other information that is written or visual. The Redd Center is offering cash prizes ranging from $5 to $100 for the best entries. A grand prize of $300 will also be awarded, according to a news release from the group. Judging will be in three age categories: children (age 8 to 12), young adults (age 13-17), and adults.
Entries should describe an experience on the public lands in San Juan County.
Entries will be accepted in two general categories – written and visual. Subgroups such as poetry, history, personal essay may be created as the number of written entries requires, officials said. The subcategories for visual are artwork and photographs.

Artists should submit a photograph of their submission. No submissions will be returned to authors.
The deadline for submissions is March 15. Awards will be announced on or before April 15.
