Families and individuals are invited to attend and try out the sport of archery, Utah DWR officials said. Bows, arrows and targets will be provided free of charge for anyone who would like to participate, according to the news release.
“If you or your children have ever wanted to try out a bow and arrow, this is a golden opportunity to do so without buying equipment or making special arrangements,” said Brent Stettler, conservation outreach manager for the Price DWR office.
The same weekend, La Sal Mountain Outfitters is also hosting a professional archery tournament with experts coming to Moab from across the western U.S. Tournament events will be held throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 5-6. He noted that families and individuals who are interested in trying out a bow and arrow may watch the professional archers shoot either before or after the two-hour family event.
Training, supervision and all necessary equipment will be provided for participants to the free event and pre-registration is not required.
