I believe my right to make a living should be protected also.
For over 50 years, I have made my living off of the land, sometimes on oil well drilling rigs, sometimes mining potash, and sometimes mining uranium. All of these resources are on or under the proposed “Greater Canyonlands National Monument.”
Sometimes, I have to cut firewood to heat my home. I have had to hunt wild game for meat to feed my family, but most of the time I depend on the cattlemen to raise beef, that you and I buy at the store, on the land that you want to lock up in some huge land grab called a “national monument.”
What makes you think you or Barack Obama have the right to do this?
Bill Clinton locked up 2.5 trillion tons of coal under the “Grand Staircase National Monument” so that it would never be mined, depriving thousands of men their right to make a living the same way I do. Who gave him this right? How can one man have so much power? This should not be, this is the United States of America, not the world’s playground.
We all have the right to work here!
