We would like to thank you at The Times-Independent for giving a fair presentation of all sides of the backyard chicken debate.

The Moab City Planning Commission listened to, and addressed the concerns of the all the people who spoke at the public hearing. The Moab City Council was very responsive and open and passed a solid, refined ordinance. A “Thank You” to both of those bodies as well.

Sommer and the rest of the staff at the city planning department were helpful and friendly and were a pleasure to deal with.

We also appreciate those who treated our concerns with respect even though we did not agree on the issues.

We believe the ordinance that was passed is good for everyone and proves win-win is possible.
