Well, save it.
We are a very small and tightly knit community of persons who live outside by personal choice. There are less than half a dozen of us, no matter what our self-proclaimed and self-aggrandizing “homeless advocates” and their ilk may claim, for their own personal and political agendas.
We made the decision decades ago to live the way we do in the “most beautiful place in the world,” to quote Ed Abbey. And make no mistake, we do not survive this way by being weak.
We live essentially in the same manner as our forefathers, and take a small pride in our ability to confront adversity and live for one more day. We don’t need anyone’s pity or anyone’s roof.
Why do we do it? Go out in those canyons on a moonlit night and sit quietly for an hour. You may understand.
God bless and keep you all.
