Local hiking and bicycle enthusiasts are invited to volunteer two to four hours this weekend to help build and repair trails throughout the Moab area, according to a news release.
Volunteers are being sought for work on two different trails. Those who wish to work on the Maverick Trail, which is part of the North 40 section of the Bar M trail system, should meet at the Bar M site, located north of Moab off U.S. 191 at the large BLM parking lot. Signs marked “N. 40”will be posted pointing the way to the work site.
Work will also be done on the Killer B Trail. Volunteers for that project should meet at the pull-out at mile post 132.5 north on U. S. 191. Signs will be posted pointing the way to the work site.
Volunteers are asked to bring water, gloves, and tools such as picks, shovels or rakes.
