“The course in Richfield is a very challenging course for our runners with many difficult hills to run up and down in the heat with the sun beating down on them,” coach Randy Martin said. “However, it was a great experience running this course early in the season as we will be running it again in October as Richfield hosts the region meet.”
Martin said the team will be running hills every week to prepare for running that course again at the region meet.
On the boy’s side, junior Treyton Helquist finished fifth overall out of a field of 75 runners, with a time of 17:46. Finishing right behind Helquist, in sixth place, junior Jackson Knowles logged a time of 17:49. Junior Joseph Andrew finished 11th with a time of 18:49.

“Our top seven boy runners all ran very good races,” coach Martin said. “Almost all of the boys either matched or improved their times from last weeks meet in Salt Lake City which at this early part of the season is exactly what we are looking for. In particular, we saw solid improvement in the times for Jackson, Joseph and Brendon from last week to this week.”
