Veronica attended the American University in Washington D.C. and later she served as a secretary for the Naval Department and the Pesian Embassy in DC.
She enjoyed beauty pageants and ballroom dancing, but most of all she loved her Lord and the Russian Orthodox Church. Veronica traveled the world with her only child, daughter, Maryanna, while Maryanna served in the USAF.
Veronica is survived by daughter, Maryanna Hutnik; son-in-law, Charles R. Zimmerman; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, John A. Hutnik, Anna (Hutnik) Pollock, Helen, and Pauline, who died in infancy; and other family members in Czechoslovakia.
A Vigil Service was held Friday, Aug. 31 at 3 p.m. at Spanish Valley Mortuary in Moab. A Holy Mass will be held at Christ The Saviour Cathedral in Johnstown, Pa, and interment following at the Christ the Savior Cathedral Cemetery in Johnstown.
