Grand’s 10 students earned a total of 21 certificates, each indicating a top-five placing in a particular category.
In Network Design, GCHS senior Spencer Smith took first place, while junior Kris Kemp placed second. Smith also placed third in Economics and fourth in Business Math, while Kemp placed first in Management Information Systems and fourth in Public Speaking II.
Junior Juniper Roman finished second in Public Speaking II, and also placed fourth in Management Decision Making.
In Spreadsheet Applications, senior Brooklyn Richards took first overall, while fellow GCHS senior Udit Bhavsar placed third.
Richards also took second in Managment Information Systems and fourth in Global Business. Bhavsar placed second in Banking and Financial Systems and third in Health Care Administration.
Senior Zak Hazlett earned third-place awards in both Personal Finance and Database Design and Application. Junior James Martin placed fourth in three categories: Business Law, Management Information Systems, and Computer Problem Solving.
Also placing for Grand were senior Matz Indergard (third in Business Law) and freshman Andrew Hugentobler (Introduction to Business).
The Red Devils placed third overall out of about a dozen schools that attended the regional competition. They will next compete at the state FBLA convention in late March.
