The students placed jars in the teachers’ classrooms for students to “chuck change” into for a good cause. Honor Society students decided that the money collected should be deposited into a fund for Young.
“We wanted students to be motivated to bring in their spare change, so we placed jars into classrooms,” said Andrew Hugentobler, president of the GCMS Honor Society. “The jars with the most donated would buy the winning teachers a kiss with a goat.”
A total of just over $160 was raised on Young’s behalf, and four teachers – Erik Secrist, Dina Lance, Mike Estenson, and Kenny Lindsay – along with GCMS Principal Melinda Snow, paid their winning dues with a hairy kiss.
