1. I protest specifically the inclusion of parcels 039 and 042 in the Feb. 2013 Oil and Gas Exploration Lease Sale.
2. I request you extend the EA public comment period for at least an additional 4 weeks.
3. I protest all gas and oil exploration for extraction by fracking anywhere, any time.
I am writing to protest the BLM’s selling leases for oil and gas exploration. Specifically, parcels #039 and #042 must not be included in the proposed lease sale as they are too close to private properties, too close to the water supply for the Moab/Spanish Valley area, as well as becoming a visual blight on an area made famous for spectacular natural beauty.
I believe you are trying your darndest to slide this under the noses of the local populace and I hope the town and surrounding counties rise up against you in ways you (locally) and the BLM regionally have never before experienced.
I hope the people in Moab are smarter and more informed about the devastation of today’s methods of extracting oil and gas than you thought. I pray that you are so overwhelmed with outraged citizenry that you will never again give in to any proposal for Big Oil to establish itself within 100 square miles of this area.
