Packard, a third-grader, is the daughter of Travis and Janae Packard.
“Even if Hallie doesn’t grasp a concept or idea straight away, she will work all the harder to make sure she develops a deeper understanding,” her teacher, Andrew Strawinski, said. “Hallie’s attitude and tenacity towards education make her an outstanding student and an asset to our class.”
Moab Mayor Dave Sakrison and the Moab City Council presented the award to Packard at the Dec. 11, 2012 city council meeting.
The HMK Students of the Month are selected by the faculty and staff of the school based on their all-around citizenship and their involvement within their school. The city of Moab presents the award as part of an ongoing effort to foster and recognize the contributions of young people within the community in practicing good citizenship.
