The committee, a county-sponsored group, has assembled volunteers to canvass the community on the mornings of Jan. 30 through Feb. 1. Those volunteers will document and gather information on all homeless residents for the night of Jan. 29 and morning of Jan. 30.
The group is asking for the public’s help in identifying homeless residents in order to assemble the most accurate information possible. The information from the Point-In-Time count is used to determine the need/gaps in services across the state. In addition, the unsheltered count serves as an opportunity to identify unknown homeless individuals that may not have connected with needed services, committee members said.
The Point-In-Time count is a national survey that includes participation from all states.
