Students are not allowed to leave campus at any other time without permission from the administration or a written excuse from parents. Those permissions must be given to the attendance secretary prior to the student’s departure, school officials said.
School officials remind students and parents that being able to leave the campus during lunch is a privilege, maintained by proper behavior and attendance. The administration may revoke this privilege if student behavior warrants, officials said.
“This is an exciting procedural change that has been long awaited for by students through the years,” said GCHS Principal Steve Hren in a written statement. “Current/former students, administrations, and student council advisors of GCHS have approached the school board for this change in the past. It is now a reality. Please act responsibly in order to keep this long-awaited privilege intact for years to come.”
