Each December, Nettell, other businesses, and community members donate funding or directly purchase books for local school libraries. All total, more than 500 books were donated to local school libraries this year, said Kristine Post, who manages the Books for Tots program for Back of Beyond.
“It’s been a really rewarding program to organize as it’s such a beneficial merger between local businesses, an incredibly generous community, our underfunded local school programs and our fabulous librarians,” Post said. “This year we also donated a number of games, activities and art supplies as well. We plan to continue making this program available and hopefully to expand the reach and possibilities each year.”
GCMS officials said the books are always greatly appreciated.
“With limited funds with which to buy books, these donations make a huge difference in being able to bring our students the new titles they would like to read,” said Joan Cannon, GCMS librarian. “Thank you, from the entire Grand County Middle School!”
