Saturday, Oct.13, is the equivalent of an art lover’s dream. The Moab Art Walk is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. at a variety of galleries and venues through downtown, and the evening also marks the finale of the Plein Air Moab festival, which has drawn more than 100 artists to compete in the third annual outdoor painting competition.

The Moab Arts and Recreation Center, 111 East 100 North, is the host venue for Plein Air Moab. Hundreds of original paintings created during the week-long event will be on display and for sale. At 5 p.m., the winners of the painting competitions will be announced and the reasons behind those choices will be discussed at the 7 p.m. “Judges Talk.”

Art Walk venues will also feature a wide variety of media, from painting and photography to jewelry and textiles.

Acrylic paintings by Randy Child Artwork will be featured at the gallery space at Moonflower Market, 39 East 100 North. This collection of Child’s work features landscapes, battleships and lighthouses.

The Edge Gallery at 137 N. Main features fine art landscape photography by Bret Edge. Each photograph is presented as a canvas wrap or archival plaque mount.

At Savage Spirit! 87 N. Main, the final works of the late Moab jewelry artist James Haas will be featured. Haas was a self-taught silversmith who had a passion for the stones that he cut and polished himself.

At Back of Beyond Books, 83 N. Main, Peg Dougherty will be showing works in graphite and watercolor.

Mixed water media artist, R. Lillian Seifer brings a new body of work to The Framed Image, 59 E. Center. Seifer draws on the themes of water, sky and stone.

Through Oct. 13, The Overlook Gallery, 83 E. Center, will exhibit landscapes in oils and pastels by nationally known artist, Lorenzo Chavez, who is in Moab to help judge the Plein Air Moab competition.

At The Museum of Moab, 118 E. Center, the exhibit features elaborate fabric and fiber pieces created by Elinore Inskip to represent a hidden aspect of the wearer.
