A Wyoming man was injured June 15 when his motorcycle crashed along Levi Well Road, about 2.3 miles west of Blue Hills Road. The accident occurred at about 1:23 p.m., according to a report from the Grand County Sheriff’s Department.
The man, 25, received a broken collarbone and a possible concussion in the spill, according to the report. He was treated at the scene by Grand County EMS workers, but declined ambulance transportation. He was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab by private vehicle, officials said.
Woman cited for intoxication
A Moab woman was arrested June 4 after police found her laying on a sidewalk behind a local tavern. The women could not stand on her own and appeared disoriented, according to a report from the Moab City Police Department.
The woman, 36, was helped up and placed in a police vehicle then transported to Grand County jail, according to the report. She was charged with intoxication.
Colorado man hurt in I-70 crash
A Colorado man was injured June 7 when the vehicle in which he was a passenger crash on Interstate 70 at mile 228 near the Colorado border. The accident occurred at about 5:30 a.m.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old man from Colorado Springs, Colo. fell asleep while he was driving the 2000 Ford pickup truck east on I-70. The vehicle drifted off the left side of the road and the driver awoke and overcorrected to the right, causing the vehicle to slide out of control across both lanes of travel.
The vehicle struck a berm on the side of the road and rolled onto its side, UHP officials said.
A passenger, 50, was injured in the crash. He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., by ambulance.
Travel trailer rolls on U.S. 191
An Arizona man was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. 191 on Sunday, June 13. The driver, 74, from Mesa, Azriz., was traveling south on the highway in a pickup truck that was pulling a 16-foot camping trailer when he lost control of the vehicle according to a report from the Utah Highway Patrol. The accident occurred at 2 p.m. near mile 107.
The trailer began to fishtail across the road, and the pickup truck drifted off the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected and the trailer came loose from the truck and rolled on its side in the southbound lanes of the highway, UHP officials said.
Bicycle reported stolen from bike rack
A Moab man reported the theft of his bicycle on June 3. The man told police the bike was parked in the bike rack outside the Grand County Public Library while he was inside the building. He said he came out some time later and found the bike missing, according to a report from the Moab City Police Department.
The bicycle, a 20-inch BMX Specialized bike, is valued at $400, according to the report.
Man arrested for intoxication
A Moab man was arrested June 3 after police were called to the State Liquor Store on a report of a man who had fallen and could not get up.
Police found the man, 58, laying on the ground between the liquor store and a nearby auto parts store, according to a report from the Moab City Police Department.
The investigating officer reported that the man was unable to stand on his own and required help getting into the police patrol vehicle. He was transported to Grand County jail and charged with public intoxication.
Vehicle vandalized
Moab City Police officers were called to a home on the city’s west side June 10 on a report that a vehicle had been vandalized.
The owner of the vehicle told police that someone had shot out one of the Jeep’s windows with a BB gun the previous night, according to a report from the Moab City Police Department. The man said the June 9 incident was the third similar incident in recent weeks, according to the report.
