This is the wrong message for our children. We will never know who “first” discovered that which is today known as America because it occurred prior to recorded history. However, anthropologists and archaeologists have, to date, concluded that the Early Americans (Indians of many tribes) arrived here by way of the land bridge from Asia through Canada (North America) and from the south through today’s South and Central America.
If people and politics must have a holiday it has been suggested it be called “Discovery Day” (of land, sea, space and other worlds). In my opinion, that one is a keeper!
