The Division of Water Quality presents for public comment the draft Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Water Quality Study for the Colorado River in Grand and San Juan Counties, from the confluence with the Green River upstream to the Stateline. This waterbody has been identified as being impaired by selenium. This impairment affects the water’s beneficial use for aquatic wildlife. The purpose of the study is to identify the causes and sources of beneficial use impairment and set appropriate goals for meeting water quality standards. The TMDL study is available for public comment through October 30, 2013. A copy of the study can be obtained at the following web address: http://www.waterquality.utah.gov/PublicNotices/index.htm#tmdls
There will be a public meeting held, October 9th at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be at the Moab Arts & Recreation Center (111 E. 100 N. Moab, UT). The meeting will highlight the findings of the study and allow for questions.
